The scariest part of designing or redesigning a room is getting started. Most designers start with an inspiration. The inspiration can be a color, style, mood, fabric, magazine picture or even a set design from your favorite television show. We are lucky today, we have so many sources in which to get our creative juices flowing. Once you find your jumping off point, put some research into finding many ways to execute what is in your mind. Create a folder or binder with the things that make you happy. After a short time you will see that there is a common thread running through most of your clipping. Doing the ground work will aid you in designing your room or allow a designer to understand what you want in less time than it would if she were starting from scratch; therefore, saving you money. Either way you are ahead of the game.
